Bateman's National Trust
'That's She! The Only She! Make an honest woman of her – quick!' was how Rudyard Kipling and his wife, Carrie, felt the first time they saw Bateman's. Surrounded by the wooded landscape of the Sussex Weald, this 17th-century house, with its mullioned windows and oak beams, provided a much needed sanctuary for this world-famous writer.
Morden Park House
Grade II listed fine 1770 house in extensive grounds built for John Ewart on part of the Morden Hall Estate, now the Borough Register Office.
The building was recently restored with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund. The interior has a number of contemporary features including a marble paved entrance hall,a grand imperial type staircase with wrought iron balustrades and other contemporary fitments.
The Royal Botanicals most visited property. Open throughout the year, Wakehurst is the country estate of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. This beautiful botanic garden is internationally significant, for both its collections and its vital scientific research and plant conservation. Ham House Richmond
The outstanding Stuart House, located between Richmond and Kingston, was built on the banks of the River Thames in 1610. Its famed Rose Garden wakes for a glorious setting for marquee weddings, while civil ceremonies can be held in the house itself.
Nyman's Gardens Handcross
In the late 19th century an unusually creative family bought the Nymans estate, in the picturesque High Weald landscape of Sussex, to make a home in the country. Inspired by the setting and the soil, the Messels created one of the great gardens, with experimental designs and new plants from around the world. Here they entertained family and friends, enjoying relaxing times, strolling in the garden, playing, picnicking and walking in the woods.
Basildon Park Reading
This impressive Georgian mansion, surrounded by glorious parkland, was lovingly rescued from ruin by Lord and Lady Iliffe in the mid-1950s, when they restored the elegant interior and scoured the country salvaging 18th-century architectural fixtures and fittings. They filled their comfortable new home with fine paintings, fabrics and furniture, which can still be enjoyed by visitors today. There are waymarked trails through the historic parkland and gravel paths around the gardens to be explored

Mottisfont Abbey Romsey
Mottisfont Abbey lies on the west bank of the River Test, with a spring (the 'font') to the south-west in a sheltered valley near the Norman road from Winchester to Salisbury. Bodiam Castle is situated beside the River Rother in East Sussex and was built in the late 14th century by a veteran of King Edward III's wars with France, originally as a coastal defence. In 1385, Sir Edward Dalyngrygge was given permission to fortify his house against invasion from France, but then decided to build a new stone castle a short distance away from the house.
